An effortless and comprehensive approach to burden of illness reviews
The heoro.com™ database was developed by the team at Crystallise Ltd. As well as having more than 40 years’ combined experience in clinical and evidence-based medicine, team members have particular expertise in conducting systematic reviews and evidence syntheses for the pharmaceutical, health and other public sectors, and in longevity modelling.
We developed heoro.com from our understanding of the pressures facing organisations in the pharmaceutical and finance sectors. Faced with ever-shortening timelines and shrinking budgets, we wanted to develop a database that could rapidly, efficiently and comprehensively identify studies on the humanistic and economic burden of disease to support economic modelling, PRO instrument development, market access dossiers and other evidence syntheses.
We search the PubMed database each week using a systematic strategy to identify all newly-indexed studies on the humanistic and economic burden of disease, economic evaluations and mortality trends. Abstracts are tagged and ranked using a series of ontologies, which are manually checked by a senior researcher before they are released into the heoro.com database. Because our experts do the hard work of screening out irrelevant studies and indexing studies by specific diseases and treatments, users can save hours of time, enabling them to identify a wider range of relevant studies than would be achievable by inexperienced junior staff searching PubMed from scratch.
